Participants of the Professional Skills Acceleration Program support the Foundation Escuela de Solidaridad

The Talent Incubator at the University of Granada is witnessing a tremendous act of solidarity driven by this year’s participants of the Professional Skills Acceleration Program. In collaboration with the Foundation Escuela de Solidaridad, these talented young individuals are making a tangible difference in the community.

The Foundation Escuela de Solidaridad, with over 25 years of experience, has been a refuge for those without homes. At its facilities in Sierra Elvira, over 150 people find a safe and welcoming place to live. However, the Foundation faces enormous logistical challenges, and this is where the solidarity and initiative of these young men and women come into play.

The goal is clear: to raise funds to purchase a new van to facilitate the logistical and transportation tasks of the Foundation. To achieve this goal, they have organized a solidarity raffle with 8 different prizes thanks to the collaboration of various local businesses: Tiendas Ambar, Terramarket Granada, MostazaGreen Burger, El taller de Nicoleta, Las chicas de la estación, librería Papel y Tinta, Formula Karting, and of course, the Foundation Escuela de Solidaridad.

Each participation in the raffle has a value of €2 and can be paid via Bizum, indicating in the concept “RIFA FES”, to any of the following numbers:

UGR recognizes T-Systems for its support of innovation and university talent.

The multinational company T-Systems has been awarded the Business Recognition Award by the University of Granada. This award has been granted for the results achieved through the collaboration between the university and the company within the framework of the T-Systems-University of Granada Chair of Innovation in Sustainability. The chair is pioneering in Europe in its field and promotes dissemination and training actions in the field of digitalization and sustainability.

The award was granted by the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences, led by its Dean Alberto Castañeda, and was presented by Pedro Mercado, Rector of the University of Granada, to Cristina Caamiña, Director of T-Systems Value Centers in Granada and Reus. Both Alberto and Cristina highlighted the convergence of objectives of the two organizations around innovation, knowledge, and internationalization.

Alberto Aragon-Correa, Chair Director, and Lola Vidal, Coordinator, announced that the joint University-T-Systems committee is already preparing the program for the following year of the Chair. Francisco Ruiz, who also attended the event and is a member of that committee, also confirmed that they expect a combination of continuity and novelty in the actions for the next academic year. Salvador del Barrio, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Communication of the University of Granada, and Vanessa Martos Muñoz, Director of the Mediterranean Center, highlighted the potential of these collaborations for a future in which new opportunities are constantly emerging.

On April 12th, the Talent Incubator hosted an innovative event aimed at enhancing professional skills in a dynamic way.

Under the title “Soft Skills through Gamification,” the seminar was led by Professor Alejandro Ortiz, an expert in HR management and leadership skills.

The event took place at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, with its main objective being to equip participants with fundamental soft skills for professional success, such as effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, among others. The highlight of this seminar was its practical approach, using gamification as the main tool for learning.

This seminar was aimed at students who have been selected as part of the Talent Incubator’s Competence Acceleration Program. These students represent a select group with exceptional potential, ready to make the most of this professional development opportunity.

The event was supported and sponsored by the company “Alight,” recognized for its commitment to the training and professional growth of emerging talents. Their support ensures the quality and success of this seminar, providing additional resources to enhance participants’ experience through the Talent and Leadership Chair and the Talent Incubator.

The Talent Incubator held a new seminar aimed at enhancing teamwork skills among future professionals.

On March 20th, the workshop titled “Together We Achieve More” took place, led by Gema Campos, an executive and team coaching specialist.

This workshop, held at the Faculty of Economics and Business, had the primary goal of providing participants with practical tools to improve their ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. This seminar is part of the Competence Acceleration Program, sponsored by the company “Alight,” which has demonstrated its commitment to the professional development of young emerging talents.

The Competence Acceleration Program consists of 20 students, a group with high potential and strong motivation to excel in the professional world.

In summary, the teamwork workshop “Together We Achieve More” was an enriching and transformative experience for the selected students, providing them with the tools and skills necessary to excel in a collaborative and demanding work environment.

The CB Granada celebrates its victory with collaborators and participants of the talent development program.

Last Sunday, March 10th, CB Granada celebrated a memorable victory against Bilbao Basket, and among the privileged spectators who shared this epic moment were the participants of the Competence Acceleration Program (CAP). The team’s victory, an unforgettable moment for the sports community, was captured in an exciting snapshot that brought together prominent members of the program, the team captain, and essential collaborators.

The photograph, taken at court level, features the team captain, David Iriarte (@diriurdi), sharing the excitement of the triumph with the participants of the Competence Acceleration Program, Javier Toni, VP Application Services of Alight Solutions, and Juan Alberto Aragón, professor at the University of Granada and Co-Director of the UGR Talent Incubator.

The support of these talented young people, along with 8,000 other passionate fans, was crucial to CB Granada’s success on the court, highlighting the importance of teamwork and collaboration in sports.

On March 13th, participants of the Acceleration Program had the opportunity to attend a specialized workshop titled “Overcome Your Limitations,” led by coaching expert Jorge Blanco from the Senttia Leadership School. The event took place at the Faculty of Business at the University, with the aim of serving as a point of reflection and inflection for attendees by offering them tools and strategies focused on overcoming personal and professional barriers.

The workshop is meticulously designed to learn how to confront a wide range of limitations, fears, and barriers that professionals frequently face on their path to success. Blanco, with his extensive experience in the field of personal and professional development, promises to provide a dynamic and transformative learning space.

In the words of Jorge Blanco, “At Senttia, we firmly believe in the power of self-awareness as a cornerstone for success. This workshop will not only offer techniques to identify and overcome internal limitations but will also provide a space for deep reflection and personal growth.”

Participants in the program, selected for their potential and talent, thus had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a guided introspective process designed to develop their full potential. This event is one of the many activities organized by the program to provide its members with cutting-edge resources and access to tools used by business leaders.

In an initiative that demonstrates the strength of teamwork and the social commitment of the new generations, twenty young participants of the Professional Skills Acceleration Program visited the Foundation School of Solidarity on February 5th. This meeting, more than just a simple visit, turned into a day of collaboration and mutual learning.

The Foundation School of Solidarity, known for its tireless work in support of vulnerable communities, opened its doors to this group of young people with the aim of developing essential skills in the modern working world, such as teamwork, effective communication, and management of collaborative projects. But, beyond technical training, this experience sought to instill values of solidarity and empathy in the program’s participants, demonstrating that professional success is also measured by the positive impact on society.

During the day, program participants listened to testimonies from the Founder, Ignacio Pereda, as well as from people who are or have been beneficiaries of the services provided by this Foundation. Pilar Guillén and Alejandra Vílchez from Alight Solutions, the sponsoring company of the Program, also accompanied them on this occasion. As a result of getting to know the Foundation, the 20 young people established an action plan to help cover some of the most pressing needs of the entity. From organizing fundraising events to developing concrete actions to help improve facilities or implement educational programs, the young people have set out to work side by side with the members of the foundation.

This initiative not only benefits the Foundation School of Solidarity but also represents a valuable learning opportunity for the involved youths. “This experience of contact with the reality of poverty and extreme need has been truly enriching,” commented one of the participants. “We learned that true leadership involves serving others and that, by working together, we can make a significant difference.”

This event is an example of collaboration between the educational sector and non-profit organizations, demonstrating the power of education in shaping committed and supportive citizens, and constituting a model to follow for the training of future generations of business and social leaders.

In a month and a half, the young participants will have a new Day where they will show the results of the teamwork and solidarity actions they are going to develop in the coming weeks to meet the collaboration commitments they have acquired with the Foundation.

On February 23rd and 24th, the Hotel Tent in Granada became the epicenter of an innovative training program for young talents. Participants of the Opportunity Day Program, an initiative launched by the Chair of Intrapreneurship of Lactalis Puleva in collaboration with the University of Granada, immersed themselves in two intensive days of leadership training and key skills essential for success in the job market.

The event featured two prominent trainers in the field of personal and professional development: Ana Martín-Moreno, known for her deep knowledge in emotional management and coaching techniques, and Lola Vidal, co-director of the Talent Incubator. Both experts shared their knowledge and experiences, providing attendees with practical tools to improve their interpersonal competencies and leadership skills.

The collaboration between Lactalis Puleva and the University of Granada has proven to be a fundamental pillar in promoting intrapreneurship and innovation. The Opportunity Day Program, designed to enhance the capabilities of young entrepreneurs and future professionals, reflects the commitment of both institutions to educational excellence and talent development.

Throughout the weekend, participants had the opportunity to engage in various activities focused on strengthening soft skills such as effective communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, and ethical leadership. The training centered on these skills, considered essential for development in today’s fast-paced and constantly changing business environment.

The program not only provided a platform for learning and personal development but also offered young people the opportunity to connect with each other, thus creating a networking network that will undoubtedly serve them greatly in their professional future.

With this activity, the cycle of initiatives for this academic year from the Chair of Intrapreneurship of Lactalis Puleva and the University of Granada comes to a close. Numerous activities have been developed in this first year of the Chair’s journey, and the balance is extremely positive by both institutions, reaffirming their role as catalysts for change and excellence in the business and academic fields.

In an intense meeting between emerging talent and the business sector, the twenty young people from the Competency Acceleration Program had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Alight Solutions in Granada on February 23, in a day significant for both the students and the company.

Welcomed by executives and managers from various areas, the young talents were guided on a tour through the company’s facilities, where they had the opportunity to see and experience firsthand the organizational culture, dynamism, and innovation that characterize the work environment at Alight, as well as the design of the company’s workspace.

During the visit, participants also attended a series of professional presentations that provided a detailed view of different departments that are currently growing within the company. Through these interactions, the youths obtained valuable information on the internal workings of a leading company in its sector, as well as the skills required to succeed in today’s professional environment.

Alight’s executives highlighted the importance of establishing such links between the academic world and the business sector. “This meeting not only allows these talented young people to glimpse the possible career paths available within a company like ours, but it also gives us the opportunity to be inspired by their fresh ideas and innovative perspectives,” commented Javier Toni, VP of Application Services at Alight.

Reflecting on the experience, one of the young participants, Victor Puerta, shared: “Visiting Alight has been very enriching as it has allowed us not only to learn how the different areas of a cutting-edge company operate, but we have also seen how talent is valued and promoted here.”

This meeting has once again reinforced the company’s commitment to the development of young talent from the University of Granada and its involvement in programs that foster the potential of young students.

The new Talent Incubator Program with the multinational Lactalis Puleva was a success thanks to the huge participation of students and the excellent work of the technical and managerial staff of the company.

The initiative involved more than 100 students in their final and penultimate years of undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Granada, with degrees related to business management, human resources, law, finance and accounting, statistics, mathematics, marketing and market research, psychology, among others. The day included, in addition to firsthand knowledge of the operation and activities of different departments of the company, a unique experience in this type of process with interviews in the format of “elevator pitches”. Participants experienced firsthand the challenge and excitement of persuading the interlocutors with brief and direct “mini-presentations” about themselves, where they could showcase their most outstanding skills and competencies.
