Within the framework of the 10th Edition of the “Job Search and Acquisition Skills Improvement” program, organized by the Vice-Dean’s Office for Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FCCEE) together with the Talent Incubator, a fundamental session for the professional development of our students took place on March 3rd: “Effective Communication to Improve Your Employability.”

The session was led by Luis Ortega, a communication expert, who guided attendees through a theoretical and practical journey on how our communication skills can make the difference in a selection process and within the work environment.

Key Highlights of the Session:

  • The Duality of Communication: The session delved into the fact that projecting a solid professional image requires more than just caring for verbal language (what we say); it is essential to master non-verbal language (how we say it).
  • Participatory Dynamics: Far from being a purely theoretical talk, the session stood out for its interactive nature. Various practical dynamics were carried out designed to dissect the complete communicative process.
  • Real-world Application: Through these exercises, attendees experienced firsthand the barriers that arise from the moment a sender launches an idea until the receiver decodes it.

These activities served to raise awareness about the importance of active listening, message clarity, and the need to ensure information arrives without distortion—skills that are critical for teamwork and project management.

This activity reaffirms the commitment of the Talent Incubator and the University of Granada to providing their students with the Soft Skills most in demand by the current market.
