The event was concluded by Rector Pedro Mercado, followed by a cocktail sponsored by T-Systems and Alight companies at the university campus dining facilities.

COMPLETION OF THE WORKSHOP: “LEARNING IS BETTER THROUGH PLAY”

Training in change and the unexpected makes learning through fun a valuable tool for acquiring essential skills and tools.

Many education experts argue that the best way to learn is through fun and entertaining activities that enhance students’ attention and motivation. Games are a way to simulate reality and a learning tool to gradually and enjoyably train and learn complex problem-solving. Well-applied games require good communication and activate learning mechanisms by impacting the emotional area, helping to deal with concepts such as failure, effort, complexity, and more.

In this workshop, the participants of the Women Talent 4.0 Program engaged in a learning session focused on adapting to change and solving challenging problems using the gamification technique of an Escape Room. This technique allows participants to learn how to overcome challenges as a group, solving problems within a controlled time frame that induces considerable stress. It is a challenging and demanding learning activity that develops various skills such as empathy, conflict resolution, imagination, teamwork, attention, planning, memory, goal orientation, collaboration, and more. The workshop was led by Alejandro Ortiz, a professor at the University of Granada and an expert in human resources management and leadership skills, and was funded by Alight Solutions, the sponsor of the Chair of Talent and Leadership.

OPENING EVENT AND FIRST WORKSHOP OF THE WOMEN TALENT PROGRAM

1024 768 Incubadora de Talento

On Tuesday, November 14th, the 15 participants of the Women Talent Program attended the opening event and the specific workshop titled “Your Attitude is the Key.” The workshop aimed to enhance key competencies such as emotional intelligence and the ability to respond to changes.

Having a positive attitude makes a difference. Attitude is the disposition adopted when facing different situations in life and largely defines the quality of personal and professional relationships. In interactions with others, whether consciously or unconsciously, positive or negative sensations are conveyed, which others can perceive and value. This, for example, is crucial in work teams to achieve objectives.

Therefore, the first workshop of this program, led by Lola Vidal, focuses on attitude and works on key aspects to develop behaviors that enhance both professional and personal relationships.

The opening event featured the participation of Pilar Guillén, Success Factors Global Delivery Centers & Service Management Director, and Alberto del Val, Talent Acquisition Senior Manager of Alight Solutions, the sponsor of the program.

THE FOURTH EDITION OF THE WOMEN’S TALENT 4.0 PROGRAMME GETS UNDER WAY

1024 683 Incubadora de Talento

After the success of the first 3 editions, the 15 new participants of this fourth edition of the Talento Mujer Programme have already been selected.

Digitalisation has spread to all aspects of life, and digital skills have become basic tools for accessing the numerous professional opportunities that the current labour market offers.
However, research on the gender digital divide indicates that, despite all efforts, the gender digital divide in Europe continues to grow. Currently in Spain only 19.4% of all ICT (Technology, Information and Communication) specialists are women and only 19% of companies in the sector have women among their management staff. Thus, despite the fact that the technology sector is growing at an unstoppable rate, offering the best paid jobs and great professional opportunities, the presence of women continues to be very low and with a negative growth trend.
The University of Granada is establishing internal policies aimed at providing solutions to these challenges and, thanks to the sponsorship of technology companies based in Granada, they are committed to developing female digital talent.

The fourth edition of the “Talento Mujer 4.0” Programme will offer 15 brilliant students from different STEMS (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) university degrees the opportunity to develop their digital talent.

NEW LACTALIS PULEVA-UGR INTRAPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION CHAIR

1024 683 Incubadora de Talento

Lactalis-Puleva and the University of Granada launch a pioneering chair in Spain for the promotion of internal innovation.

Pedro Mercado, Rector of the University of Granada, and David Saliot, General Director of Lactalis Puleva, announced in Granada the launch of a pioneering project to promote intrapreneurship and innovation capabilities. Following a meeting of the executive teams of both organizations, both leaders announced that the project will be developed through the establishment of the “Lactalis Puleva – University of Granada Chair for Intrapreneurship and Innovation.” The Chair will be directed by Juan Alberto Aragón Correa, Professor of Business Organization, and will have a monitoring team composed of representatives from both organizations. This Chair is the first in Spain focused on this topic and will also be an international reference in this field.

The leaders of Lactalis Puleva and the University of Granada have highlighted that both organizations share common characteristics that enhance the potential of their collaboration. On one hand, the leadership of both organizations in their respective activities is based on their internal capacity for innovation. Saliot emphasized that Lactalis Puleva distinguishes itself from its competitors by having a significant portion of its business based on internally developed innovative products that address dietary needs while paying special attention to health aspects. In turn, Pedro Mercado emphasized the University of Granada’s leading position in international rankings thanks to its researchers’ ability to lead research and advanced projects in multiple fields of knowledge. Finally, both leaders emphasized that both organizations carry out most of their operations from Granada, having a significant positive impact on their immediate territory, which they aim to continue enhancing.

The programs of the newly established Chair aim to leverage the experience of executives and professors to help undergraduate and postgraduate students identify the advantages and tools related to organizational innovation. The methodologies employed to achieve these objectives will also be original, in line with those commonly used in the University of Granada’s Talent Incubator, where the Chair will be based. All programs will be completely free for the selected participants and, in some cases, may even include paid internships and employment opportunities.

The ultimate aspiration of Lactalis Puleva and the University of Granada is that participants in the Chair’s programs can advance their professional careers, opening pathways for their incorporation into either of the two organizations or others where innovation values are also relevant. Promoting high-quality professional careers in a local environment and ensuring that these careers have a positive impact on the region has been highlighted by Mercado and Saliot as an integral part of what the company and university have been doing and now intend to further promote through the Chair’s establishment.

Meeting was attended by a qualified representation of both organizations who discussed details about the Chair’s activities. From Lactalis Puleva, in addition to its General Director, Sonia Rodríguez Muriel, Director of Human Resources, and Jorge Oliva, Communication Manager, were present and will lead the company’s participation in the Chair. Furthermore, Estefanía Moreno, Director of Key Account Sales, and María Reyes, HR Business Partner, also attended the meeting and will lead the monitoring of the Chair’s activities. On behalf of the University of Granada, in addition to its Rector and the Chair’s Director, Esteban Romero, Vice-Rector for Social Innovation, Employability, and Entrepreneurship, Antonio Marín, Director of Sponsorship and Patronage, Carlos Centeno, Director of the Communications Office, and Lola Vidal, Associate Professor of Business Organization and co-Director of the University of Granada’s Talent Incubator, actively participated in the meeting. All attendees emphasized that the establishment of this pioneering agreement and the Chair itself represent an example of intrapreneurship in two organizations capable of developing innovative collaborative initiatives with a positive social and management impact.
