The Talent and Leadership Chair’s Female Talent 4.0 Program, sponsored by NGA-HR and aimed at bridging the digital gender divide that exists in Spain, continues with its professional competencies training activities with their Personal Development Workshop “Wake up: It’s your attitude that counts”, given by María del Mar Méndez, professor at the University of Granada and personal development coach.

The event, presided over by Sol Ostos, Director of the International School of Postgraduates and with the participation of Juan Alberto Aragón, Director of the Chair; Alvaro Santaella, Coordinator of NGA-HR; and Lola Vidal, General Coordinator of the Chair, closed the second edition of the Competencies Acceleration Program.

The Talent Chair marked the end of the Professional Competencies Acceleration Program with an Intensive Training Session that kicked off with the “Communicate well to lead well” Seminar, given by Ana Marfil, professional coach. In that Session, Javier Delgado and Natalia Ortiz, Student and Program Quality Coordinators, conducted a valuable seminar in which they analyzed the activities carried out throughout the year with the objective of improving future editions.

The Talent Chair organized a program with a view to encouraging students to develop their careers in companies in the digital sector. The Program commenced with a session, which was attended by 80 students with the best academic record of the 50,000 at the University of Granada The session was presided over by Pilar Aranda, the first woman to hold the position of Dean at the University of Granada in its almost 500 year history and Aitor Vinós, Vice President of NGA-HR, the company which sponsors the development of this initiative.

On 1 June, students from The Talent Incubator’s Professional Competencies Acceleration Program took to the streets to raise awareness amongst citizens about the importance of reaching the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), also known as the Global Goals.

The diverse activities, which included workshops on climate change, knowledge exchanges with refugees and asylum-seekers, student body surveys on the quality of higher education, role plays about the work of teachers and about inclusive education, were carried out simultaneously all of Saturday morning in different centrally located places.

This past 10 May, students of the Competencies Acceleration Program participated in a group coaching session entitled “Discover your potential,” given by Jorge Blanco with the objective of working on students’ individual leadership through focusing on responsibility, one of the factors that contributes most to their development.

Jorge Blanco is the director and founder of the School of Leadership and an expert in Personal and Professional Leadership, specializing in Productivity Coaching.

On 24 April, Berry Groenestijn, Operations Vice President at NGA HR and Aitor Vinos, Vice President of NGA HR along with students in the Talent and Leadership Chair’s Competencies Acceleration Program analyzed the main challenges of managing multinational companies in this day and age. The colloquium was moderated by Alberto Aragón, Chair Director.

Maite González, Chief Regional Officer and Chief Innovation Officer for MAPFRE RE in southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, brilliantly explained to the School of Business students how to manage multinational teams and how to establish a unified organizational identity. This conference is one of the open activities that the Talent Chair organizes for University of Granada students interested in such matters.

Once again the University of Granada’s Talent and Leadership Chair was televised on Canal Sur’s news program. On this occasion the regional television channel reported on the presentation #EresLíder (YOUAREALEADER), interviewing some of the participants in the promotional video, which was made in order to boost and develop values based leadership amongst young people.
