American experts from the multinational Alight NGA HR offered yesterday, January 21, within the Woman 4.0 Talent Program, a specific workshop on the importance of properly managing diversity in organizations and the consequences of not paying attention to this aspect considered currently key in business competitiveness.

In the US, this issue is already considered absolutely strategic. In Spain, more and more companies are working decisively on it. Three experts from this multinational come to present to the program participants their knowledge and real experiences in a company with more than 15,000 employees on five continents. A huge challenge that they have faced with a clear and global policy and that they will share in this specific forum for debate and discussion.

The workshop speakers were Xan Daniels, Vice President of Inclusion and Diversity at Alight NGA HR, Nikki Robin, Global Head of the company’s Professional Women Network, and Cari Wilkins, Head of Inclusion and Diversity at Alight NGA HR.

The workshop worked specifically on gender diversity. Currently existing barriers for women when it comes to reconciling work and family life and possible updates to eliminate the “glass ceiling” were analyzed.

Talent is vital at this time and that is why we invest in this type of program ”. At the meeting of the Mixed Commission, those responsible for the Talent Incubator informed the rector of the University, Pilar Aranda, about the implementation of the programs “Acceleration of Professional Skills” and “Talent Woman 4.0”, initiatives aimed at discover and support the development of young university students with high potential, and the work that is being carried out in parallel to create new programs and initiatives that have a greater scope.

In the words of Alberto Aragón, director of the Talent Incubator, “we are really proud to have created such a productive public-private partnership that offers so many benefits to participants”. “All the students in our programs highlight the practical aspect of the training they receive and the personal and professional growth they experience after passing through the Talent Incubator”.

It is now the fourth year that the Talent Incubator has been working hard to create these projects aimed at complementing regulated academic training with the development of certain high-performance skills that allow the best students at the University of Granada to better adapt to the current professional world. The programs work on leadership skills that point to the emotional and interpersonal side and, unlike the hard skills that are identified with curricular academic knowledge, they are skills related to the integrated implementation of skills, personality traits, knowledge and skills. acquired securities.

In addition, all programs also have a development in the social sphere, highlighting the importance of future leaders being aware of the value of human relationships and establishing sustainable bases, not only for their own and personal development, but also for the advancement of the environment around them.

Lola Vidal, coordinator of the Talent Incubator, considers that “growing up right now is a privilege. It is a manifestation that at the University we are capable of innovating and collaborating closely with the business sector. We are in a complicated situation but when a clear value is generated for all those involved, the private company is committed to working with the University “.

Celebration of the final act of the activities of the Talent Incubator for this academic year

On July 2, the Talent Incubator of the University of Granada said goodbye to the 20 students of the Competition Acceleration Program in a privileged environment, the Restaurant el Coso in the Plaza de Toros de Granada.

The event was an informal meeting where the students and coordinators of the initiative shared a pleasant meeting where they could share the lived experiences and the learning acquired during the Program. Given the special characteristics of this academic year where the program has been carried out in a mixed way, both face-to-face and virtual, the act was truly emotional since it had been several months since the students had been able to meet and share moments together. This meeting had precisely that purpose, to create a return to normality where to maintain the spirit of the Program that is based on collaboration, continuous learning and personal development to ensure that these students become true leaders of the future.

THE IDT ADAPTS ALL ITS PROGRAMS TO ONLINE FORMAT BY THE CRISIS OF COVID 19

The Talent Incubator of the University of Granada has reacted quickly to the current situation of health crisis, quickly adapting and redesigning its training programs to teach them in e-learning mode.

This academic year, the Incubator started three different programs, all with the aim of empowering the participating students with their talent and leadership so that they learn to apply their potential to the existing reality and to assess how they could improve it in the future. The Covid-19 crisis has led to reinforce the importance of this objective, together with the need to change the approach of many of the activities carried out.

In this context, the Incubator has wanted to maintain its planned activities, restructuring the formats but maintaining the essence of the programs and the purposes for which they were created. In this way, the Incubator responds in a manner consistent with a University that has accepted the current challenge by staying active and training its students day by day.

Given that most of the incubator’s training activities were not only face-to-face but experiential in nature on a methodological basis of “learning to learn, doing and experimenting”, the challenge is to transfer this teaching-learning model to digital format. However, each activity is being redesigned to increase students’ ability to take on challenges and develop flexibility and adaptability as key competencies for their future.

THE TALENT INCUBATOR BETS AGAIN TO FORM “EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION”

Future leaders need to communicate effectively. And since improving communication capacity is possible, the Talent Incubator includes in all its training programs, training activities aimed at developing this key competence for personal and professional success.

As the poet Joseph Brodsky already stated in expressing “Take care of your vocabulary as if it were your checking account”, communication is something that nobody should lose sight of. What is said and as it is said, has a huge impact on the results of any person. Therefore, in the Professional Skills Acceleration Program of the Talent Incubator, knowledge and skills in this field are considered vital for any professional of the future. If communication is mastered, much of the path is already taken …

The seminar “The challenge of communicating effectively” took place yesterday Thursday, March 5, at the Faculty of Business and was taught by the Improbesame company: experts in the development of skills for the company. During the seminar, effective communication and discourse construction techniques were worked on, as well as strategies to overcome stage fright.

The seminar, eminently practical, has been designed following an active methodology based on games and dynamics, many of them coming from the theatrical field where to communicate it is not enough to transmit a message, but it is possible to transmit a coherent emotion to the message that makes the Communicative process a vital tool.

The activity is part of the program of activities of the Chair of Talent and Leadership of the University of Granada, sponsored by the company Alight NGA Human Resources.
