Young Talent Programs: posibility

The Talent Incubator of the University of Granada, in collaboration with Leroy Merlin, offers two professional development programs:

  1. YOUNG TALENT BUSINESS PROGRAM: a training and career advancement program aimed at individuals with the potential to become executives of the multinational company’s commercial establishments. It is specifically designed for individuals with university degrees in management, human resources, law, architecture, construction, psychology, among others.
  2. YOUNG TALENT DIGITAL TECH & DATA PROGRAM: a training and career advancement program aimed at individuals with the potential to become technical leaders of teams in the company’s central services focused on the development of internal processes and solutions related to innovation and digitalization of the company. It is specifically designed for individuals with university degrees in computer science, telecommunications, electronics, logistics, data analysis, mathematics, physics, statistics, among others.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMS

To connect university students with great potential with interesting professional trajectories that match their profiles (“Business” or “Tech & Data”) by offering them high-level training in managerial skills and soft skills and an opportunity to begin a professional career directed towards high-level positions in the company.

Candidate search and selection of participants.
Pre-registration (March 1-31, 2023): The number of spots is limited. Interested individuals should pre-register by submitting their CV on the TalentiaPoint platform (www.talentiapoint.com) and including “LEROY2023” in the “code” field (if your profile is already on the platform, simply enter the code now to confirm your interest in this activity). If the deadline has passed, you can still register to receive information about other free programs of your interest.

Program Activities

Selection of participants

This program is open to final year students of bachelor’s or master’s degree with training in business administration, marketing, labor relations, accounting, architecture, building, law, or psychology with potential for a managerial career, and to final year students of bachelor’s or master’s degree with training in science, technology or mathematics with potential for a career as a technical manager. A selection process will be carried out among interested persons because the number of participants between both programs is limited to only 25 people.

High Performance Training in Management Skills

The programs include intensive training in “soft skills” and management skills, where you will learn in a completely practical way through experiential seminars to improve skills considered “core” for your professional career such as effective communication, leadership, teamwork, decision-making, among others. The sessions will all be face-to-face and at the University’s own facilities.

Individual and Group Mentoring

All students will have individual mentoring sessions with company executives where they will receive useful guidance and advice for their professional career. In addition to these sessions, students will have a group meeting with the CEO or member of the Technology or Retail Executive Committee, who will offer an overview of the company’s activity and current business strategies.

Business Immersion

The two Young Talent programs include a visit to the Leroy Merlín headquarters in Granada so that students can firsthand know the company’s facilities, perceive the work environment and meet part of the company’s team in Granada. There, an information session will be held where company executives will present the values that characterize the firm and its future strategic plans.

Socializing time

In the development of training and mentoring sessions and in the planned times for rest and socialization, the program has the express objective of facilitating that participants can get to know each other better, exchange opinions and relate to each other. In addition, the program itself offers some meals, breakfasts, and coffees for free to facilitate meeting people with similar interests that serve as a support network in successful professional incorporation.

Indefinite Contract

After the training and mentoring period, the program offers participants a professional career plan that begins with an indefinite contract to join Leroy Merlin. The incorporation of students from the Young Talent Digital Tech & Data program will take place at Leroy Merlin’s national headquarters in Madrid, where its Business Development area is located. Participants in the Young Talent Business program would join in positions with managerial projection in Leroy Merlin centers in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia.

The programs allow participants to enter the workforce directly and become part of the team of a highly prestigious multinational corporation with a high market share. The company also offers all participants the opportunity to enter internal promotion programs, where there are well-defined training itineraries for continued growth within the company.

Program Cost

The program is COMPLETELY FREE for the students finally selected to participate in it. The cost of the program is 2,100 euros per person, which is fully sponsored by the company Leroy Merlin in collaboration with the University of Granada. Additionally, selected individuals will receive their corresponding remuneration as soon as they begin their professional experience.
